La Candelilla is a Gran Canarian Crag, maybe the first Sport Climbing Crag of the Island. Its rock is awesome, very hard, eventhough it is not a rock in its form, it's a conglomerous rock. Most of its colour is orangy-browny but there are parts where it is full of differente types of moistures. This moistures are the ones that make you see anything. If the route is not marked with manganesse, then this moisture makes the change in textures dificult to be seen.

Two Days for a Route
On January 2nd of 2012 I bolted my first route. I did not know that day was going to be "the day", but accidently, it was. I rounded the high walls and managed to downhill the rock with my grigri, the drill, and other neccessary materials. I managed to put the anchor in the right way, trying to bolt it on a safe place, and starting going down, and up, looking for the exact places for the parabolts, and I think I founded them. Lets see how climbers comment about it in the future. If so, the second one will change....or not. I haven't climb it yet, eventhough today, January 5th, I finished cleaning it and throwing all the rocks needed.
I've been working on this route for two days, and in hours, they have been a total of 7 hours,, maybe more or not, but rest has been needed... and I think they count in the overall process to create a rock climbing route. ¿Don't you think so? If so, I could say that this route has had a work of around 11 hours. Hard work has been done!
This route, previously named "Mercromina", is a crack, a big one, it looks like if two plates had been separated. It is not that tall, around 15 meters or so. ¿The level? Don't know yet, but is more than a 6a+ for sure, and who knows if it will call for the 6c. The next week will tell me. I really don't know why I called this route like it, it just came to my mind, who cares... But accidently, I found a lizard inside therock, 2 bolts from the anchor, coloured dark red, a gecko. So finally, the name will be "Gecko Mercromina".
